Blankets for Kids
Women from Ridgeview Commons celebrated four years of Blankets for Kids, which has distributed nearly 10,00 blankets to abused, neglected and at-risk children through community service organizations and police departments all over the Bay Area. In addition to blankets, the women use the scraps for handmade dolls, scarves and headbands also included in the distribution.
The all-volunteer organization was founded in Pleasanton in 2003 by R. Jo Molz and her daughter Marcy Molz, after Jo discovered nearly that nearly 300,000 abused and neglected children in the United States. They wanted to do something that would, even in some small way, alleviate the suffering of those children. For more information, contact Jo at 846-6155.
