Body found at recycling station

Pleasanton police are investigating the discovery of a man's body at the Pleasanton Garbage Co. transfer station on Busch Road late Tuesday morning.

The body was discovered among cardboard recyclables by an employee, and police secured the scene pending the arrival of detectives.

The cause of death had yet to be determined as of press time, although a preliminary investigation indicated the death may be accidental. The man's identity is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.

The body was discovered at about 11:45 a.m. Police contacted the Alameda County Crime Lab to help process evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pleasanton Police Department at 931-5100.
