'Potbelly bandit' sentenced in Bank of America holdup

A bank robber once known as "the potbelly bandit" has been sentenced to more than 15 years behind bars for a Sept. 11 holdup in Pleasanton.

It says he was convicted and sentenced in 1990 for 115 months, about 9.5 years.
So how did he get out to get convicted in 2001?

And if he was convicted yet again in 2012, should not that be the Third Strike?

IF he spent all the sentence in jail, he then went out and got convicted very fast. Very efficient?

You've gotta be a pretty dumb criminal to rob a bank. Bank robbery has the highest conviction rate among all major crimes. Being convicted in 1990 and again in 2001 should have taught him that, but obviously he's a slow learner. This is his third strike, so he'll have a lot of time in prison to mull over this fact.

It's the Obama economy. Even bank robbers have to work past retirement age.
