Thank you to Pleasanton's Public Art Selection Committee, for valuing Pleasanton's culture.
If the community wants public art, it should auction off space to private corporations. I'd much rather look at McDonald's Golden Arches spanning the United States then have to look at some piece of "art" that forces you to look at people from another hemesphere who don't even count in this community. I don't want my tax money funding some socialists and there pipedreams.
With proper guidance, students are capable of producing stunning images! Young students have that extra special punch that healthy communities appreciate.
If there's no rush, I would suggest that a committee of children, parents and teachers meet and discuss their ideas for the perfect mural/work of art!
VIVA STUDENTS! VIVA!
Public Art can be a great thing for a city, but Pleasanton seems to hide their art where a lot of people can't find it. I loved the People statues that we had on main street. I saw a lot of people looking a commenting and taking pictures. Saw more people downtown during that time also.

Perhaps there is a better site.
If adults express the belief that children can make a wonderful mural, then they will create a wonderful mural. They need guidance, materials, adults expressing the confidence that they can do it and voila! They will use their magic brains and create a masterpiece!
If adults don't believe that children can make exquisite art, then it won't happen.
