Bank crash

Original post made on Jul 29, 2012

A late-model BMW SUV apparently attempted to give the Bank of America a drive-through lane on Sunday, July 21. Police say the car jumped the curb and ran into the rear of the building; no cause has been determined, and no charges have been filed. Photo by Maria Popp

Guess the "Drive though window" wasn't open on a Sunday morning...

Let's hope it wasn't one of those unlicensed 14 or 15 year old children out with a parent in a parking lot practicing where there can be no harm or damage to anyone. Hopefully there were no injuries.

I drove past the scene shortly after it happened. You wouldn't have believed it. Police officers, sheriff's deputies, EMT personnel, Pleasanton Fire Dept. All amounting to a duplication of services. ALL at taxpayer expense. We need to cut the staff and salaries of these so-called first responders. Obviously they're looking out for No. 1, trying to collect overtime pay at taxpayer expense. People, there is a tsumani coming and drastic measures are needed. Fire science and police science alike suggest that minimum wage for state workers is best for the community. It puts a stop to public workers' gouging the taxpayers; and it makes their tasks more competitive. And, after all, these are REAL jobs.

CORRECTION: These are NOT real jobs. Compared to Mitt Romney, for example, these fraudulent public workers contribute very very little to society. And we pay them as if they are CEO's!!!! Where have our priorities gone? The tsumani is coming, and if we are to survive we must build up an ark of minimum wage for all public workers. It will be best for all real Americans.

Arnold, you have no idea what you are talking about. No way the Sheriff's department was there if it happened in the incorporated part of Pleasanton. Cops are needed for the investigation and to take a report. Medics are to assess the driver and make sure they are okay. Fire department also for medical reasons as well as for scene safety (structure damage, gas lines, etc).

I bet if you were to inquire at the fire department or pd, they would tell you no one got OT out of this. All those people there were probably on their normal shift anyways.

Let them do their jobs and enough with your pointless rants already.

And P-Weekly, would be nice if you put an address where this happened.

Obviously Mr. ANONYMOUS is a paid union propagandist who is out to distort any and all truths about corrupt unions and how they bilk the public. Police science and fire science and medic science are on my side. Go distort the facts somewhere else! We can't afford to allow these union distortionists to have their way, people. A tsunami is going to wash away our wealth and the wealth of our children and grandchildren. If you care, truly care, about your family, get out there and push for minimum wage for all public workers. It's being done already very successfully. in Scranton.

It crashed in to a bank. Of course there were a few PD there. They didn't know much about the situation before they got there I am sure. Could have been a break in gone wrong. The occupants of the vehicle could have been armed, they could have been seriously hurt. So you are saying that if you were in an accident, whether it be solo or not, we should tell PD, Ambulance and fire not to bother coming to your aid incase they run in to overtime????

We don't need a fire dept or a police dept. Privatize, and what is left over Dublin can handle for us. If you knew anything about police science or fire science you'd know what I was talking about. All other public workers need to have astronomical wages and pensions cut. Not a single one of them is worth more than minimum wage. See Scranton.

We need to live in a free society without being oppressed by govt Big Brother taxation. Take down 'speed limit' signs. Most people will go the speed limit and the others, not seeing the signs, will slow down. Cops aren't needed. They're just a Big Brother distraction. Everybody's so obsessed with wearing seat belts and harnessing their kids into safety seats that they're crashing into all the city's banks. Taxes, for me, are like rat cages forced upon my face. They are so Big Brother.

Arnold...can't wait for your next emergency. As you sit there in your crushed Prius waiting for America's heroes to respond, take a minute to thank your lucky stars you live in a country and a city that provides the best service possible to all who live here, regardless of the mental aptitude. Realize the reason you have no friends is your an arrogant, uneducated toolbag who thinks he knows what he is talking about although everyone you come into contact with sees you for what you really are....a waste of skin.

Now fire off a response that quotes some unfounded pension reform numbers and other public servant propaganda as predictable.

Hey Arnold!

Did you actually read anything about this?

Scranton is DEFERRING salaries of police, firefighters and city employees. That's right, the city will pay everyone what it legally owes them. It's just trying to put off making the payments until it's out of the hole.

Why is it ignorant people seem to have so much to say? I was raised to be silent unless I had something of value to contribute. This younger generation has been brought up to thinking it's ok to vent every feeling they have with little regard for critical decision making. There was a time when a person took responsibility for the things they said. Arnold, you and your ilk need to keep your petty thoughts to yourself. It appears you have no understanding of how what you say shames you. Your attempt to use a simple news article to slander public servants is sad. Pleasanton Weekly is should remove posts from people like you. To call this a platform for open dialog is equally sad.
Arnold, with no regard for your age, you need to be silent when adults are talking and speak ONLY when you have something valuable to contribute.

Don't be fooled people. Truth, None of the Above, and Boomer are all the same poster, paid for by corrupt public 'worker' unions, with the object of getting us to take our eyes off the horizon where the erupting tsunami looms. There are no economic models out there that recommend that govts engage in deficit spending until the economy improves. Only diseased socialist sailors will bother to get out of bed with tax payers to tell you such.

Arnold, the things you say only serve to announce your ignorance. The world is a complicated place and your misinformation and fear only complicate a already difficult situation. It is clearly too much to process for you. It all must seem very frightening. You are going to have to come to the realization that other people, better than yourself, need to talk about things in order to come to mutual understanding so we can unite to get things done. That means that, the fearful and uninformed, need to be quiet and let us fix things. I'm sure there are plenty of websites where your type of input is welcome and it is important that you go there. Stay away from conversations designed for open dialog. Just like this one, people will not understand you and by the look of things it sounds like you desperately need to feel understood.
Good luck and God speed.
