Well at least the new Bart station isn't making a big impact on the crimes. Phew!
Seriously? I'd blame young people from here first.
It sounds like it might be an inside job. Lawn crew or housekeeper maybe? It's usually the help.
@none of the above
I was referring to the 30yo from union city, 50yo from Castro valley, 19yo from Oakland etc etc etc...
@ Judith, that makes no sense. How do you figure a theft from an unlocked vehicle is the landscapers or a housekeeper? Based on the time it happens and because it is from unlocked cars, that is the last thing I would think. Its likely some thieves looking for something easy to steal. Probably some younger folks or people coming into the city to victimize us.
Lock your cars and houses!!! This is 2012 and just because this is Pleasanton, it does NOT mean we are exempt from crime. A lot of this could be avoided if people got out of that mindsight. Leaving your house or car unlocked is plain stupid. You are practically asking to become a victim!
It's just a feeling I get whenever I'm around them. I've caught them a lot of times looking into my car to see whether I've locked it or not. Guess that just comes with their occupation. Once they've scoped out two or three cars, then they can do a sweep right down the block. The new BART station gives them an easy getaway.
Lock your cars...what are you thinking? Oh how sheltered and safe you think you are.
Lots of transients and "diversity" coming from out of town. Ain't "diversity" grand? Can't wait for the low-income housing to come.
This isn't rocket science and it it's the 70s in Pleasanton anymore. It's a CITY. Lock your doors. Stop parking across the street from your house like people do in my neighborhood. Pay attention. Be realistic - it's more than likely a bored kid looking for easy money and a thrill. And don't blame "the help." Where's your head? Stuck in another decade? Comments like that make you look like an elitist snob and it's why people assuming Pleasanton residents are snotty jerks when the majority of us really aren't that way.
Here's an. Idea....park your cars in your garage. That's what it's for, not a storage locker or a unit for your in laws. Those of us that use our garages for its intended purpose don't have to worry about this 'problem'
I've got a better idea. If they want to get you, they will. I leave my house doors unlocked so that I don't have to face broken windows and busted down doors. And I never park in the garage because they're more likely to burn your garage down. They envy us our freedom and will stop at nothing to take us down to their level.
Has anyone noticed the strange massage parlors on First Street? They clearly are NOT a normal massage parlor and only have men coming and going late at night.
