Something very interesting is about to happen. A radical Muslim group has warned the creators of "South Park", Trey Parker and Matt Stone, that they could face violent retribution for depicting the prophet Muhammad in a bear suit during last week's episode. The Muslim group is using the same tactics of publishing home addresses and inciting violence against the duo in the same way that Theo van Gogh was killed in 2004 by an Islamic extremist after the broadcast of "Submission," a short film about abuse of women in Islam. This truly raises issues of Freedom of Speech and those who oppose it by threatening violence to those who do not agree with their ideologies. South Park is indeed scathing, but do people deserve violent reaction to their ideas? In fact, is this why church and state are separated? I'm not sure of the answers, but I know I am going to watch South Park in support of free speech in America.
