Just wondering if there will be a story on Downtown Pleasanton losing 2 great concept and family owned businesses? Within the last 2 weeks Downtown Pleasanton has lost Pure Girls and Day Art Studio.
When investigating the rent prices these businesses were charged, it is no reason why Pure Girl went of business and Day Art is trying to stay in business by finding a less expensive space.
The owner of Day Art studio is so gracious and complementary to Pleasanton: "DAY Art Studio will be moving to a new home. We have thoroughly enjoyed our downtown location and I believe, as Pleasanton residents, we have something to be proud of in our charming downtown." "Alas, our costs in this location are just too high." "We will close our doors on Main Street on August 24th and hope to reopen in Pleasanton in Mid October. We will of course email our plans when they become more solidified."
Will we see 2 more family owned business pay the enormous rent hoping to make a living, only to see them go out of business in 2 years $100,000 in debt?
Does one need to be independently wealthy to open a store in Downtown Pleasanton?
