The republicans did not learn a thing from 2008, and they must want Obama to win in November, because they are forcing Romney to sound so far to the right that there is no way the more moderate voters as well as independents will vote for him:
"characterized Romney's words as a play to the conservative wing of the GOP.
"He did everything he could to pander to the far right wing of his party with extreme and out-of-touch positions like vowing to get rid of Planned Parenthood, as he did today," Schultz said in a statement Tuesday. "
I am very disappointed in Romney because I did not think he would try to appeal to the republican right wing after seing what happened to McCain in 2008.
There is no way the right wing would vote for Obama even if they did not like the republican candidate or perceived Romney as "liberal." So why is it that the republicans insist on appealing to a group of right wing voters? They alone cannot win the election! They need the independent vote, and independents don't vote for extremes.
