Through Romney’s leadership as governor in 2003, the state passed a universal health care system that is comparable to Obama care.
How can Romney overcome such a huge obstacle? Obama care is one of the most contentious issues between Obama and the Republicans in Congress. Republicans have been up in arms against Obama care and have made it a platform against Obama and the Democrats.
Romney would make a strong presidential candidate. Highly intelligent, he graduated from Brigham Young, and then went on to graduate cum laude from Harvard with an MBA and law degree. Romney co-founded investment firm Bain Capital and was president and CEO of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games.
When asked about Obama care, Romney wisely said that he would leave the decision about universal healthcare to the states. This is a good temporary fix, but something that Romney will have to overcome during debates with other republicans hopefuls.
Besides his views on universal healthcare, Romney may also have to face his wish-washy stance on abortion and gay marriage.
The next wave of debates should be very interesting!
