Cindy Sheehan, the anti-war protestor whose son died in Iraq, announced yesterday she was giving up. She wrote in her online diary she couldn't deal with a country full of people who cared more about who the next American Idol would be than how many kids would get killed in Iraq.
I wanted to say publicly that this is really disheartening and I for one am saddened. Not that she gave up so much but that she's right. Americans know more about Paris going to jail than what's happening in Paris or anywhere else in the world.
This hedonistic, self-centeredness of so many Americans is pathetic.
