Parents scrambling for preschools as Adventure Time announces it will close Thursday

That site is just not right for childcare. The Y had trouble breaking even. Adventure time had trouble breaking even. If a new provide comes in and can make a profit, it's at the kids' expense! The district should turn that building into a much needed teen center. Bad decision, Dr. Casey!

Maybe Mr Casey could help out the teachers and help with expenses for the preschool with his large salary and home loan that is interest free. Maybe they could make the pre schools loan interest free...

That's never been a good spot for a 'day care'. How'd you like your kid playing outdoors and breathing the carbon monoxide of all the idleing cars/trucks sitting at the light?

I can't believe they ever did an environmental impact report and got an ok for childcare.

That'd be a great spot for a hot dog stand or coffee wagon.

If that location on Bernal is somehow horrible because of traffic, how do some of the elementary schools around town fare? Shall we shut down Alisal? I don't imagine that Santa Rita at that location is grossly better than Bernal near First Street relative to the daily traffic. Is Fairlands far enough from I580 to meet acceptability requirements? Oh, let's not forget Gingerbread pre-school at Santa Rita and Black, across from Alisal. Cough, cough, cough.

Frank... Bernal/First/Sunol is an all day cut through intersection. I'd wager it has much more 'stop and wait' traffic than anything you mentioned.

Plus... the children are outdoors playing 250 feet from these 'idleing' vehicles all day long.

Sounds like you're on the pro-vehicle/anti children committee..

To unclehomerr:
While I agree on the issue of the daycare not being in an ideal location, your suggestion that an EIR (environmental impact report) should have been done for the daycare to be in place there is not logical. EIRs are never done for the sole purpose of an allowed business use .. too costly and frankly, illegal for something already zoned as an approved use.

Thanks, Scoob... I didn't know that. Let's just call it lousy site selection.

Checking in.

"Sounds like you're on the pro-vehicle/anti children committee.."

Sounds to me you have been insulted by my comments and felt you needed to cast a dart toward me.

Thicken your skin, uncle....
