Don't let the tea baggers fool you, the Pleasanton Tea Party was anything but bipartisan or grassroots. These events were orchestrated by national right-wing groups, like FreedomWorks, and heavily promoted by the Fox News (need I say more). They were also attended by a number of Republican politicians.
Despite want some comments assert on Pleasanton Weekly, this Tea Bag Tantrum was NOT a welcome place for Democrats and very few actually attended the event. For anyone who drove by the Teas Party or saw photos, it becomes clear that the event was made up of a very homogenous and angry group of people known as "the base of the Republican Party." While I support the Tea Baggers' right to protest, I don't think they cast a good image for Pleasanton and I don't believe a group of bitter Republicans reflects Pleasanton as a whole. Tea Baggers need to get over their sour grapes, and understand the fact that Obama was democratically elect BY THE PEOPLE. Also, can you Tea Baggers let me know where your outrage was over the last 8 years when George W Bush ran up our debt? Oh I know, you CONVENIENTLY reached your "boiling point" with Obama's policies...SURE!
