Mommy jewelry? Now I know!

Original post made by Jeb Bing, editor of the Pleasanton Weekly, on Apr 3, 2009

I've never been a shopper for mommy jewelry, but maybe I'll start. There's a lot of demand for these personalized mini-tags and necklaces, making and selling them seem like a lot of fun and it's apparently a good way to pay the bills in these tough economic times.

Dear Editor,

I am proud Pleasanton resident bringing up three children in this community that really strives to be an honest, hardworking and fair town to live in. I am a little disturbed by your article on Swank Jewelry. I am a firm believer that their is plenty to go around but when I see a company make claims that are false I feel the need to speak about it. Hayjac Designs, a Pleasanton based company has been around for at least seven years catering to many Pleasanton residents and across the United States specializing in Mommy jewelry. Swank Jewerly originally bought their jewelry from Missy Harker, owner of Hayjac Designs, and even asked her how to start and run such a business. I am sure nothing will be said about this because the owners are old Pleasanton families but I just feel that since this about Pleasanton families making Mommy jewelry the company that started it here in Pleasanton should have the same recognition. Thank you for you time.

I love Swank Mommy (now Posh Mommy) jewelry. It is now being sold in retail stores which means more competition and better prices! I went to shopwiki to do some comparison price shopping and I bought my Swank Mommy necklace at

I'm curious as to why there is no mention of Erin on the Posh Mommy website. The "About Us" section of Posh Mommy makes it sound as if Ali started the company all on her own. Interesting to read differently here.
