There are some winners and some losers from a cost point of view as health care insurance rates are becoming solidified. There's the story of a retired professional in San Jose whose premium increased $1,800 a year for an over-the-counter policy, and the self-employed engineer with a family of four whose premiums increased $10,000. Then there's the story of a Danville cancer survivor whose premium went down $5,00 a month.
But the single, best observation that I've read from anybody, from anywhere, was from the retired professional. She said she supported Obama and Obamacare and was happy to see it made into law. Her quote?
"Of course, I want people to have health care," she said. "I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."
