I read your story Kitten season comes in like a lion in the May 31, 2013 edition of Tri Valley Life by Dolores Fox Ciardelli. I took myself down to adopt a kitten and was denied based on where I live I was told. The kitten I wanted to adopt, in my opinion, could not have been a more perfect match. The kitten was found alone in the bushes and was about six weeks old.
The article talks about "qualified homes" but does not tell you that a qualified home is left to the judgment of others and their personal comfort level which may or may not be in the best interest of the kitten that did not get adopted, and, I believe in this case is extreme injustice to the kitten.
I know I would personally like to see "qualified home" more particularly described before I take my afternoon to try and do something good when otherwise it is left to someone else to determine after you are making the effort. I would not mind some sort of response in this matter. I feel completely ripped off but worse, the kitten is deprived of what I consider to be one of the best opportunities for such a kitten in need.

Since I have no record of the comment I just sent, I would respectfully request confirmation of receipt about the Kitten season comes in like a lion by Dolores Fox Ciardelli. (Not this comment but the more detailed comment sent just prior to this comment) My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.

Does TVAR have a local "catch and release" spaying/neutering program for feral cats? How about free spaying/neutering for local cat owners with limited resources?
I know that TVAR receives a lot of support locally. And, having read this article, it seems to me that it would perhaps make more sense to put more money into very pro-active neutering programs than into trying to save and support unwanted kittens. (Maybe it already does. I don't know - that's why I asked!)
