Pleasanton Hilton takes the name DoubleTree

The Pleasanton Hilton Hotel has been renamed DoubleTree in a move by the hotels' parent company to increase the use of the DoubleTree name at its suburban facilities while keeping the Hilton name for its upscale hotels in larger cities.

"DoubleTree by Hilton Pleasanton at the Club" : seriously, who comes up with these names? Do marketing people somehow think it appeals to customers instead of making them laugh at the brand?

Think "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim".

Stayed at the DoubleTree overlooking Times Square. It was pretty nice.
