They may quietly include charges for "extras",
and hope you do not review the bill.
We recently ate at the Livermore restaurant, on Stanley.
My Mother, who is in her 90's,
ordered the fish from their Senior Menu, (they call it "Honored Citizens)
which has smaller portions for about $9 or $10.
She's on a fixed income, and remembers when prices were much less.
The waitress asked:
"Do you want everything on the baked potato?"
And she said Yes.
So we were really surprised to find an extra charge for $1.36 on the bill.
They had added $.69 for Bacon Bits, and another $.69 for something else, grated cheese, I think.
The waitress NEVER said "Would you like to Add anything." Or anything about an "Extra" cost.
When I asked, a lady who I think is the assistant manager, promptly removed the extra fees,
but she said it is Policy to add such fees.
If true, NOT a very honorable Policy.
Principle of the thing:
Much ado about a little, but she was very rude, which is one reason I'm posting this,
and it can add up.
Has this happened to others?
