I have yet to go to the new store but find the hardware assistance at the Valley Plaza location so much better than the big supper chains out of NC and GA. It's nice to be part of the success for the little guy who seems to be turning into a big guy. I look forward to exploring the new location. Way to go Fred! Support our local businesses....

Ed, you are right. The service is not great at the Valley Plaza location. I was in the new location last week and the service was even less great -- and two employees were in the back of the store smoking cigarettes, which is against the law, and the place was full of smoke.
I really miss the Orchard Supply Hardware we had before Sears took it over and ruined it. Right now, the best service is provided, which isn't saying much, at Lowe's. I'm hoping that since Lowe's now owns OSH that the service at OSH will improve a bit.
I hope this new Workbench makes a go of it, because it is really needed in Pleasanton, but they need to improve their service ASAP.
