Antioch's Ridiculous Cat Extermination/Starvation Ordinance
Original post made by Mew, I'm starving on Apr 9, 2014
Former Pleasanton assistant city attorney Lynn Tracy Nerland, now city attorney of Antioch, has drafted a 'feeding cat prohibition' ordinance that the Antioch city council just passed. As always, once one East Bay city passes a ridiculous ordinance, the other cities do too.
What is making the rounds is that the four busy bodies on the Antioch City Council, who obviously have nothing better to do, have determined kitty cats are dangerous and just placed a ban on feeding domestic cats. A play by play of this ridiculous situation can be found here -
Please email the Antioch city council at these addresses email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com , congratulate Councilman Tony Tiscareno for being the only NO vote to this insanity.

Have not read the ordinance but I will say this to the people who let their cats roam all day and night. I am now trapping them. The deal is this though -- I travel 4-5 days of every week. So if your cat, who craps in my yard, walks on my cars and sheds on my outdoor furniture, ends up in my trap on day one of my trip how long do you think it might last? 3 days? 4 days?
Get a grip people. Keep your cats INSIDE and out of my yard!

liberalism is a disease is a registered user.
cholo, defender of pussy-cats everywhere. Our dogs enjoy intruding cats, occassionally catching them and giving them hell. No traps required and threatening bleeding hearts like cholo can't do a thing about what happens to pests on your property. The basic rule here is if you have a pet, take care of it and don't expect your neighbors to have to deal with it at all...ever.
Or, become one of those creepy cat-people and keep all these wayward felines in your house.
