Accident yesterday pm on Dublin Canyon Road?

Original post made by Grace on Nov 13, 2013

Hi -- Driving home on 580 East yesterday, traffic was backed up, so I took the Dublin Canyon route instead. When I got just past Rowell Ranch, traffic came to a standstill and a fire engine and then an ambulance raced by. Traffic was completely stopped, with no cars getting through, so everyone starting turning around and heading back. Looked and saw no reports of any incidents in any of the local news sites. Does anyone know what happened? I'm always worried about the safety of cyclists on that road, or the possibility of a head-on crash. Hopefully, this was nothing too serious.

it was a head on collision that resulted in an overturned vehicle. They had to cut one man out of the car. I saw people trying to help him. I believe everyone lived through it.

Thanks for the information, Anon. I sincerely hope all made it out of the collision with minor injuries -- sounds scary.

Just a little surprised that even after the report from Anon that this was a fairly substantial accident on a pretty traveled road in/near Pleasanton (a head-on collision resulting in a vehicle being rolled over and multiple emergency vehicles/agencies attending) that there wasn't a single mention of this in the PW.

Any information on this, PW editorial staff?

I think the editorial staff is preoccupied acting as the relevance police.

I'm shocked it wasn't reported. I drove by right after it happened. A white suv was smashed up against the dirt wall facing the wrong way and the overturned vehicle was shattered into pieces with the roof completely caved in. =(

I saw this mention today in another newspaper (which means that this link will probably be taken down by the PW staff... why, if they decided it wasn't worth their time to report on?):

Unfortunately, it does sound as if it really was a very serious accident...

That link is actually a different accident. This accident was on Dublin Canyon not on Crow Canyon. No one was killed in this accident. Still though, I am also surprised there was no articles about this particular accident, it was pretty bad. The fact that everyone is alive is simply amazing. It just doesn't seem right though... the accident happened in Pleasanton to a Pleasanton resident and yet... no news. One of the drivers has been a Pleasanton resident for 40 + years and his daughter is a Pleasanton teacher. Someone should have reported on it.
