Should Congress Be Held to the Same Standards?
Original post made by Daveg on Oct 24, 2013
He has introduced a "constitutional amendment stating: 'Congress shall make no law applicable to a citizen of the United States that is not equally applicable to Congress.' This amendment also contains two provisions that apply that same principle to the executive branch and judicial branch of the federal government.
Under this amendment, Congress, federal judges and even the White House will no longer be able to exempt themselves from the laws they create, uphold or sign ' as they all regularly do now in a plethora of ways. If congressional staffers are still allowed to receive subsidies for Obamacare, Americans will also be able to receive similar support from their employers should both parties desire such an arrangement".
Read the entire article and ask yourself if this makes sense.
It will be interesting to see how much support this amendment generates among our duly elected representatives.

It's ironic: the guy who's on record as saying blacks shouldn't have to be served at white restaurants if the owners so wish, quotes MLK.
Don't really know what this poorly written opinion piece by Randy Paul is all about. You'd think if one is seriously proposing a constitutional amendment that one might make an effort to be really clear, with lots of examples and such. But of course this racist little pipsqueak is not serious about a new amendment. He's simply posturing -- and readers of the Moony newspaper like Da veg lap it up.
Maybe Da veg would care to offer in his own words a clearer explanation of what Randy is up to?
I'm not surprised that even the right-tilting corporate media wouldn't touch this poorly written excuse for yet another half-baked criticism of ACA. Randy had to go to the commie-fighting Rev. Moon outlet. For Da veg to have approvingly offered this little laugh tells us more about Da veg than it does anything else, except what low standards Randy Paul has. Next, expect him to speak at Jim Jones university on the horrors of medicare and social security because certain wink-wink entitlement groups draw upon them.

In spite of "Student's", i.e. Mike Cherry's rambling comments that are laughable, I wonder what one finds to fault the premise that "Congress shall make no law applicable to a citizen of the United States that is not equally applicable to Congress."
Part of the problem with our legislators today is that they are not held to the same standards as the rest of the country. Is "Student" saying that the laws that the common citizen is held to don't apply to Congress and that is acceptable to him?

So, Da veg, I must be confused, because I don't know why such an amendment is necessary. One should stop at a stop sign. Okay, I get it. Do we need an amendment for that?
Please, Da veg, we need some clarification. From you. In your own words. Here's your chance to step out from your Moonyism and really let us know what you're thinking.
