I am anxiously waiting for confirmation, as a former Soccer player for FHS I won't believe it until it's publicly announced.

FHS is a wonderful school, with gifted teachers and a rigorous curriculum for any child who wishes to excel. The sports programs vary, but with the new athletic director, things are changing. There seems to be more accountability from the coaches, and a greater sense of dedication amongst many of the parents involved with the booster club. Soccer needs some new life breathed into it, and let's hope things change. Also, BUSC needs to stop discouraging boys from playing high school soccer. In their effort to push more boys into the competitive 'academy', they are basically obliterating the high school soccer programs. What is sad, is most of these kids won't go on to play college soccer, nor become pro stars. What they are missing is an opportunity to play with their friends, and build school spirit. Let's hope things change in the coming years!

Are you serious? Is this what you expect your kids to get out of school? What happens when your little darling gets cut from the team? Is it then time to hit the books?
And stop pretending soccer is a sport....maybe they consider it that in 3rd world countries (or San Jose, where they had a near riot over the weekend), but not in this country.
