A few minutes into the Presidential debate I realized the candidates were reading from their perspective scripts and redundantly sounding their familiar bell weather platforms. The performance was anything but electrifying. The numbing talk of the "other guys dismal performance" begins sounding like droning bees hovering in the wind.
We have moved into the final phase of the Presidential footrace where the choice becomes ours, the voters. I talk with my well informed friends, and they are split into two diverse camps that only takes a few seconds to understand their position. Previous elections have been about how candidates perform in the ring. This time it's about which direction the public wants to take. It's not about colorful leaders anymore, but ideals, values and the viewpoint of the American voter.
The country has bee widely divided for a long time. Yet, decisiveness has also lost it's nerve racking impact. The three-ring circus is leaving town. It's time for John Q Public to point the way. I hope I make the right choice.
