Yellow Pages came with bugs

Original post made by Yellow Pages came with bugs on May 11, 2012

Just got a unrequested new Yellow Pages, marked "YP- the real Yellow Pages" delivered in a plastic bag. Thrown at my door so hard it set of the dog. (Reminds me of Lily Tomlin's Ernestine and the Phone Co Strike.)
Two books, one larger than the other.
When I set them on the table, a bug crawled out. Looked like a termite, my wife says might be a "silverfish."
Here's more info from the web:
Web Link
It says they love paper, starches, and cause serious damage to clothes, drapes, etc.
Just wanted to warn others, so you can be careful not to bring an infestation into your house.

I brought home a overpriced bunch of bananas from Safeway. A little green spider crawled out onto our kichen table. I swore I'd never shop at a unionized grocery store ever again.

One solution for getting rid of unwanted mail -- catalog choice. Start an account at Catalogchoice.org and you can get catalogs, yellow pages, credit card offers and all sorts of junk mail stopped. It works! And it's FREE!
They also have a service where you purchase a postage paid envelope, tear off mailing info for unwanted mail, send it to them and they do all the work to get it stopped. They are working to get the USPS to quit the every door direct mail program unless there is a permanent opt out feature.
This is a non-profit company and I have no affiliation at all with them other than as a VERY satisfied user.

In our increasingly paperless society, why aren't the Yellow Pages online?
