Safeway...oh well

Original post made by Kaye, Valley Trails, on Feb 24, 2012

Oh dear, Safeway's profits are down! Maybe if they lowered their prices more people would shop there.
Could be they are spending to much of their money hiring people to stop the various Walmart Neighborhood Markets that are going in.
Sure not because their power bills are to high cause all their stores are so dark.
Read about their woe's here. Web Link

Of course your sales volume is going to go up when you stop offering the larger sized packaging so that customers need to purchase more of the smaller units. But hidden food inflation is still inflation which is why your profits are down.

Grate post Kaye. I can tell you put a lot of thaught into it. I agree the Safeway store's are to dark. The union wonts it that wey to cover up for the corupt meat cutters skueezing ribs into individual contaners. I personably wont shop their again until they bring back the 128 ounze tubs of beens and franks. Just hiding food inflation brought upon us by the guy in the White House whose soon to be looking for another job.

From the comments it seems like people are acting like Safeway has shoppers shopping in candle light. It's not dark in any of the stores I've gone in to. Possibly getting your eyes checked might be a good start. We don't need spot lights on every isle. Bring the lights up and then people will complain that it hurts their eyes.

I heard Safeway is paying the kids of union members over $200,000 per year just to pass out anti-Walmart leaflets. No wonder their grocery prices are so high. Stop the union thug intimidation. We want our Walmart!
