SCHOOL SUPERFLUOUS SUPERINTENDENT

Original post made by MIGUEL, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on May 12, 2010

I can't for the life of me explain to my friends, family and neighbors why our school district keeps laying on expensive administrative jobs at the expense of down to earth practicalities. Could someone please show me how paying a bureaucrat this much dough excites me to pay more taxes, donate and otherwise support the schools. Please, I'm serious. I am left speechless ... and please, not the "we have to pay this for the best" ... that's the Goldman Sachs argument.

i thought you all been had money? a woman gets a job and you all flip because you can't afford it? what's going on here...you brag about your community of character, the wealth of your special enclave, whine about low income housing but when it comes to put up or shut up, you cry your weeping eyes out? what's that? hmmmmmmm...are some of professional mourners that are being paid to cry your winking eyes out on this blog?

rise sally rise
wipe your winking eyes
put your hands on your hips
an make your backbone slip

oh shake it sally
shake it to the east
shake it to the west
shake it to the very one
you love the best!

tee hee hee, tee hee hee...

i rest my case...

"that's the Goldman Sachs argument. "

What is your problem with Goldman Sachs? Are you trying to demonize an entire industry?

I'm a woman and I don't agree with the new superintendent's salary. In fact, after reviewing salary for related positions in northern california, I'm absolutely disgusted! It wouldn't matter whether the incumbent was a man or woman, I'd feel the same either way. There are plenty of people in the corporate world who work longer hours and have a LOT more responsibility who make a lot less than that.

To Anonymous and all you jealous type - NO ONE cares about what you think or agree/disagree with so shove it! She's our new Superintendent now and let her do her work. If you are even half as competent you should apply for the job.

to "Disgusted": you are wrong. Your comments assume I make less than she does. You've completely missed the point. Administrative jobs should not pay $200-$300k when schools are suffering as much as they are. Go crawl back into your cardboard box and stay there.

@ anonymous "There are plenty of people in the corporate world who work longer hours and have a LOT more responsibility who make a lot less than that."

What could be more important than making decisions that affect everything that happens to our kids in public schools and the associated property value benefits that a high performing school district provides?

Are you independently wealthy and childless?
