Mountaiin Mikes Showdown...It's On!

Original post made by I. Eaton Moore, Birdland, on May 11, 2009

So I saw the other day that Mountain Mikes next to Nob Hill and Togos has all you can eat salad, pizza and desert for $5.99 or something. Starts at 11 and ends at 2 I think. Who wants to challange my self claimed title of "Biggest Eater in Pleasanton"? I'd propose a 11:30 start until 2, pizza slices counts only, dessert if there is a tiebreaker needed, generally following I.F.O.C.E rules. Maybe put $20 on it to cover the winners expences? You know, gas, food, Pepto Bismal, etc. Well plan the contest once we have at least 3 competitors.

Do you have to eat the crusts?

Of course you do. But a tactic might be putting down as many crusts as possible then topping off with the 'centers' or 'crustless' pieces of the pizza. This is an allowable technique and is sometimes employed by those that hit the crust wall easily an/or quickly. Complete slices are all that are counted for an athletes final score. I'm not sure if I should warn the establishment or just test their abilities to there utmost. This decision is under further review.

Competitor yes, but "athlete"? That's a stretch!

Actually I've never tried the salad/pizza bar. But we like the pizza. My favorite is the Pike's Peak. My wife likes the Pineapple Chicken Luau best.

An athlete must train, have certain god-given abilities, and be able to perform in competition. I am a gurgitating athlete of the highest caliber and refuse to be disrespected. I will train extra hard to silence the doubters. I also have not eaten there in a long time and will be prepared for any type of slice that comes before me. Be it me leveling a Pikes Peak or crashing the Pineapple Chicken Luau.

OK, ok. Count me in. I'm 6'4" and 200 lbs of pure eating machinery. I will be the victor in this athletic event. Just post the day and time about a week or so early so I can prepare by fasting and sharpening my teeth.

Profits from ticket sales will go to pay for my gastroenterologist bills. Bottomless Bill, you may need to sharpen your teeth but I plan on eating like a duck and swallowing slices whole. What a waste of time it is to chew your food.

I think Mountain Mike's should sell the tickets. You guys should get "appearance" money and a prize for the winner. Maybe a year at ClubSport?

I don't know if Mountain Mike himself would even want us there destroying his profit margins. Money and prizes sound good though. I already belong to Club Sport though, or as I like to call it AVAC or even Tennis Town when I'm feeling nostalgic. I do most of my training above the basketball court at the snack bar.
