I wanted to wait to post this thread until the new board was in place but the news headlines "Gun Discharged in Classroom in Oakland', has prompted me to post now.The new board members will understand that the budget isn't the only crisis we have brewing in Pleasanton. The PUSD and current board has in my opinion brushed this under the rug and has remained silent in hopes that no one in our community including the news publications would notice the results of the California Healthy Kids Survey. The results of the CHKS from 2007:

Just how gullible are you? When I take the survey, by the time I am done, I carry guns, take drugs, and have sex. You take the survey seriously. Most of us just get it done.

How could the results of teenage drinking be "shocking?" Do you live in the United States? Do you see the movies and TV shows the kids are watching? Do you see the alcohol their parents drink? Why would they be immune to all these forces that they're exposed to?

I'd much rather see the board address the enormous waste of educational time caused by administering worthless surveys "tests". "Survey" is absolutely right. By 7th grade any kid knows that an anonymous survey is a joke and will embellish just for fun!
