One hundred to one that the guilty party was in an SUV talking on a cell phone. To the Pleasanton police, when is enough going to be enough? Start watching and citing these idiots.

I also heard the emergency vehicles and helicopter. Now before someone starts betting on what happened and labeling someone the "guilty party", lets look at this a little closer.
I travel by that park very frequently and that location has been an "accident waiting to happen" since the park was improved. I can't count the number of times I've witnessed small children run out in the street while mommy or daddy are loading/unloading their vehicle and paying absolutely no attention to their children(toddlers to 5-8 year olds).
These are not pedestrians, these are children that suddenly dart out in the street from the front or rear of vehicles parked at the curb.
This is a park that's heavily used during weekdays by toddler play date groups and soccer groups on Saturday.
Another problem on that street - mom/dad suddenly opening the drivers side door into traffic without looking. As was said, the width of this street doesn't seem to be your "average" street.
I'm not saying an "SUV driver on a cell phone" couldn't be responsible, I don't know. I'm simply saying - If you're not familiar with the street/park, let's not place blame before all the details are known. That seems to be a common theme here at times.
Let's all hope this is not as serious as it seems and the child is OK.
I drive passed that park very slowly, on full alert, and encourage others to do likewise...

KSFO News at 6pm... 3 year old little girl ran into street in front of a car going slow.. looking for a parking space on Muirwood. Injuries not serious.. sounds like it 'could have been' a lot worse.
Best wishes to the family..
