He's just the President, he can't control the stupidity of others. Personally I'd love to see some of these states have a go at it alone, only to come crawling back kissing his feet.

I would be more than happy to cede Arizona back to Mexico along with Texas, and give Florida to Cuba. Those states cannot seem to get democracy right after so many years and so many feeble attempts.

Great, OK with me, if they take their mostly southern baptist tea partiers with them, so the republican party would be free of them and free to return to the GRAND Republicam party it was before the tea partiers.

As long as the media prop him up and keep fiascos like the Libya attack coverup from being fully vetted in the public eye, I suppose he won't look so stupid. After all, he can always blame others, since he's not accountable.

I'm not necessarily in love with Mr. Obama, but I find it interesting that everyone blames all the problems in the US on him alone when the Republicans have had control of the House for 2 years. Nothing gets passed because NOBODY - Democrats or Republicans are willing to compromise - everyone (including many voters and posters on this forum) have dug trenches too far left and right, demonized those whose opinions vary, and refuse to meet in the center. Last thing the US needs is another Civil War as states try to leave the Union. Mr. Obama idolizes Mr. Lincoln enough to see this as the same challenge.

You idiots do realize that secession means YOU start over. WE the people of the United States of America don't have to share with people who declare themselves no longer our problem. That's right you near sighted low information voters, after your secession you would be occupied by the United States until your new country is able to handle it's own security.

I say go ahead and good luck with that. California is probably the only state that could leave the union and excel, our economy, even in this down turn, is greater than many countries.

How exactly is Obama dividing the country? Is HE asking anyone to leave? These people are choosing to tell everyone else that they want to secede.
Wasn't one of the cries of the Republican Party something along the lines of "We want to return America to it's values'? Isn't democracy part of American values? Isn't running an election and then following the leadership of the person that the country voted in part of our democracy? Working together for the good of the country... isn't that part of our American legacy? Where in our history did it tell us to have a hissy fit if our candidate didn't win?
My word... it's been over a week since Obama was re-elected. I can't believe we've survived this long (insert sarcasm).

Oh I know - and have posted about that too on these forums. My daily entertainment for more than 4 years, has been scrolling through the insane comments on PW forums for the tiny bit of truth that comes out. My point is that it isn't just "Libs [that] are a hoot" - Conservatives can be just as bad. Neither extreme works, as has been proven in this country for the last 20 years. We need middle of the ground compromise - and I don't see any of that happening in the near future.

It is difficult to compromise when you have so many ignorant people signing petitions to secede and politicians agreeing to never ever raise taxes under any circumstance.
The country is becoming 2 groups...one understanding that change is inevitable and we need to adapt and one that is angry and clinging to the past with many waving confederate flags.
There is a big difference in the way liberals disliked Bush and the way so many today hate Obama.

Obama is not dividing the country.The selfish people with money who hate the idea of Obama and his policies raising their taxes and the other group that resides mostly in the south and rural areas and I will leave it at that.The other group is the angry educated/successful older white people who just cannot handle the demographic change in America and believe Obama is a symbol of it.I hear it everyday from someone.
The irony is that Obama and his story is as American as it gets.

It is a little ironic that now those in the "blue states" are all for the "Red states" seceding, yet we had a little skirmish some years ago when the red states tried to do it before. Perhaps the liberals should have let them secede/

Yet he wants to change it. He says that he and his wife were in a mound of college debt and they had to work so hard to get out of it and could only afford the basics.
To me that seems like a good thing, but to Obama he says that "it should be easier for people to go to college"
If there is only one thing that I have learned in life is that if you make these easy for people to get, they do not value what they have. So if we make it so easy for everyone to go to college (and not worry about the costs) as Obama wants to do then the college degree because worthless.
