Like Stacey says, though it was more of tax cuts combined with spending increases (Medicare prescription drug benefit, defense increases, FHA increases...) that was supposed to create all those jobs and lower the deficit. Oh, and then there was the continued light (or non-existent) regulation of large financial institutions like AIG, Washington Mutual, Merrill Lynch. Those were savvy institution that didn't need to be burdened by a bunch of meddlesome regulators -- They knew what they were doing...

Scary, absolutely terrifying! Aren't they taught any 'critical thinking' before they're turned lose...sounds worse than giving kids a loaded gun, without the skills to use it. Appears it's mostly just robotic repeating and elementary sterotypes. Colbert, Jon Stewart. Rachael Maddow and msnbc are about extreme comedy and lies, not eduacion. OK in small doses, but no substitute for education and history. Have they even read the 'Federalists Papers' yet ? Fully understand the works and principles of Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, and the issues they argued. They shouldn't be turned lose until they have. Informed??? Apparently not. They have a lot to learn about democracy and good citizenship before speaking. But it is a good time to be listening and asking and preparing for the future. If they are under the delusion they are learning from tv, it would be channels like History, Discovery, C-Span. Scarastic, lying clowns, do not educate or prepare informed citizens.
Kids shouldn't be allowed to vote until 21. They need time for experiencing several jobs to help understand what makes our wheels turn, and to be fully informed citizens.
