Harvest Park break-in case resolved

Four students involved in a late May vandalism at Harvest Park Middle School were likely among the five expelled by the school board Tuesday night.

If I had done that as a young teen, I guess I'd brag about it too. Some of the mischief sounds rather creative. Well, the kids have now gotten a strong dose of community wrath. I wonder if the kids' experiences with the community motivated the way they expressed themselves? In other words, what should we think they were likely protesting? An increasingly disciplinary society? An overbearing relation with institutional adults? The hypocrisy of a society that professes high ideals but so increasingly falls short of acting on such ideals on so many levels? In any event, you can bet they'll be laughing about this madcap antic for years to come.

Yes, I think I see your point Charlie. But what exactly do you think the kids were trying to say? Is the message they're getting from school or family different from the world they see themselves as being part of? Does it relate to being told truth is important when being untruthful is a requirement for success in today's world? Or what?
