With the presidential election a week away, voters are coming out in droves to get their votes in early, elections officials throughout the Bay Area said today.
In Pleasanton, voters can drop off their ballots now through Election Day. The Office of the City Clerk will not serve as an early voting site, but voters who have completed their Vote-by-Mail ballots may drop off the voted ballot at the Office of the City Clerk during regular business hours.

FYI -
Since "regular business hours" can vary from city to city and department to department, I went to the City of Pleasanton's website to locate what the City Clerk's "regular business hours" are. Nowhere on the website could I find hours listed for any department...seems that could be fixed up a bit? I called and the "regular business hours" for the Clerk's office are M-F 8am - 5pm.

I could be wrong, and I often am, but I've read where it was credited to Mayor Daley(Richard J, that is)when he was running his powerful(and some say "corrupt")Chicago political machine...
I believe you're correct about John Daley being a golfer and from what I read in the sports pages, he probably couldn't find his way to the polls to vote unless there was booze there. Young man didn't look in his recent police mug shot. Very sad case with much potential apparently gone to waste...

JT, Thanks for inspiring me...:):)
A little research found the "Vote" phrase was probably first used in the early 30's by then Chicago Mayor William H. Thompson and was later quoted by Alphonse Gabriel Capone and the late Chicago Mayor Daley(Richard J, that is :))...
