Niles Canyon Road cyclist killed when bike hits rock

The bicyclist who died Saturday after crashing into a rock near Fremont was an engineer at Cisco Systems, the giant networking equipment company based in San Jose.

I think it's pretty disrespectful to not get this man's name correct in the article. There are two versions written - Pickens and Perkins. A little investigation and editing would be nice so the man can be recognized and honored appropriately. Many good thoughts to the family left behind.

Sad. The section at Palomares intersection and train tressle area are both quite dangerous. Once coming home at a blind tressel curve in that area, I saw 2 cars collide, nose to nose, both pointed straight up to the sky....scary.

Every on must stay on their own side on the line while turning....no matter where it is.

Your comment shows a tremendous capacity to empathize with others, Steve. Is that how you talk to the children you claim to home school? "Get a life!"? Can you not show even the slightest bit of compassion for those personally affected by this tragedy, or are you so consumed with hatred that compassion simply isn't in you?
