So now a "rumor" is "proof"? If this rumor were true, you would likely see hundreds of posts. Not one saying "my son confirms having heard about this, but didn't actually see it happpen".
Its almost as if some small group of people thrive on having a topic like this to blow out of proportion. I admit there is a fine line in letting the kids dance the way they like to and not letting them dance at all, but there are always administration and many volunteers (all with flashlights), at EVERY dance at Amador.

The intelligence of the person who originally posted this is to be questioned. "I heard about an incident that occured at the school dance.." He or she assumes because she 'heard' about it, it's now 'a incident that occured.'
The other possibility is that this is a joke. I could start one, like..."Uh, I'm just trying to confirm a fact that I heard from my teenage son. I heard him tell his friend that his girlfriend saw the cafeteria ladies having a lesbian orgy during the fire drill last week. I've been checking various news sites, and haven't seen anything. Anyone know anything?"

Really! Dreama, you couldn't get find a better example? Lesbian lunch ladies?
Ok, let's try this, Not a rumor a fact, 15, 9th graders in the 2007 California Healthy Kids Survey stated they brought a gun to school. So, if only 1/2 out of the 15 decided to lie, because well, they are kids you know.... what smart remark would you have for me, a mom. Sex on the dance floor... probably not, inappropriate groping heck yes, I worked all 2006 dances at Amador and that in FACT did happen.
So instead of attacking the mom posting, I say thanks for taking the time to try to find out.
bill Coupe does have a lot to answer for. He is the principal, and for the most part usually falls on the "What is my liability in this situation" stance. Thank goodness the district allows this, otherwise he could retire and know that nothing bad happened on his watch.
to the post that a teen posted for attention, not likely, the attention they would receive from Facebook and MySpace is so much more stimulating than any posting here.
Don't scare off legitimate concerns from parents, it wasn't a rumor, it was a question. Be nice.

I am in fact NOT a teenager but a 32 year old mother of two kids. I in fact went to Amador myself and was appalled when I heard FROM A PUSD EMPLOYEE about the incident. It amazes me how many things the average Pleasanton citizen doesn't know because it's kept under the radar...on purpose.
And to all of you who don't answer questions posted on this site but rather belittle those who have legitimate concerns, STOP. We don't come on here to get criticized or to be given definitions of words we already know. If you don't know the answer, then don't respond. Don't reprimand us.
That's all I ever see on here. People going off subject and attacking eachother for their differences. IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THEN DON'T RESPOND.

Concerned Mom: Since you are 32, you probably don't have teenagers. When you do, you will appreciate the fact that your post has cast a shadow over hundreds of nice kids who were at that dance.
Yes, you started a rumor.
Would you shout this on the corner of Main Street in front of Peet's Coffee? I think not. But that is essentially what you did except that you protected yourself from riducule while disparaging the students at Amador. We have no idea who you are but we all know kids at Amador.
Amador is a great school and all the kids I know who go there are really nice kids who work hard and contribute to the community.
I think the Pleasanton Weekly should be careful about posts like this that deal with minors. A more responsible approach for the Weekly might be to bring the post to the attention of the School or the District.
It is not professional for the Weekly to promote rumors.

A PUSD employee who saw sexual intercourse occuring on the dance floor her or himself? It makes a huge difference. Be specific. And if that person did witness this herself, did she do anything about it?

I am happy you posted this. I have a son at Amador and am not worried about his reputation due to this post. Give me a break. Perhaps this conversation will be noticed by someone who attends dances regularly and can do something to check and make sure this is not happening.
And by the way, this is not something people are hearing for the first time. I have heard this "rumor" before and am quite disturbed by it. Bringing light to the subject won't hurt any kid over there at Amador, but rather, may actually help.
As for all you self-righteous PW bloggers who have nothing better to do than constantly put people down, why don't you just stop and try to be kind....or just keep it to yourself.
Personally, I am done with this forum- it is like poison, so rude and negative and hateful.
I will periodically check back in to see if Jeb or Gina has wised up and decided to make people register with real names and email addresses, so as to be more accountable for their words. (is this a perfect solution, no. But I belong to a group for international adoption that blogs in a forum similar to this and let me tell you, when registration became a requirement, it became a MUCH more pleasant and respectable forum, with most of the "hate" posts just gone!) Until then, I am outta here.

Need to check your math skills there, Karen. CM could have a kid at Amador at the age of 32. Too bad Jennifer won't be back. She made some great points. It's not a surprise that the Amador administration is hiding this incident. They hide many incidents that don't look good in the public eye. It is oked by the district. Oh wait did I just start a rumor?!!!
>Would you shout this on the corner of Main Street in front of Peet's Coffee? I think not. But that is essentially what you did except that you protected yourself from riducule while disparaging the students at Amador. We have no idea who you are but we all know kids at Amador.<
Big deal. Do you know who I am? You should. I know kids at Amador too and until you spend as many hours at the dances and seen what I have seen, you wouldn't be jumping up and down in distress to protect the entire school.

Really! Concerned mom just asked a question. She didn't use names, or grade levels. She does not have to apologize for protecting her child's interest. Go over yourself, if you don't like the content of her question, don't answer. Your irresponsibility in flaming her only shows how closed minded you are.
Hey Karen, why don't you stand on the corner and shout on the corner near Peet's Coffee and ask if this question is true? Scared you might find out the answer is true?
Concerned Mom hang in there. You keep the heat up on the administration, if you don't get answers call Pupil Services at district, Kevin Johnson is his name. Ask him the same question. You will get an answer.

We’re intentionally giving this post a rest because the postings have become repetitive, accusatory and often based on hearsay. If factual information on this Amador incident comes forward, we will cover as a news story and will also welcome renewed Town Square postings.
