This was a great opportunity to get to know the candidates better and understand their perspectives on issues. Thanks to those who organized and put this on.

In general, the questions and moderation were fair but I did get the sense that the Karla was focused on a bit more due to her slow growth approach to development. However, she did a good job fielding the many questions posed to her.

The other candidates also did a fine job answering questions. I walked away with a much better sense for who I'm voting for.

Yes - I should have read the date more carefully.

I highly recommend anyone interested in improving their knowledge of the candidates and their views on issues attend this upcoming event. The Chamber event yesterday was well worth my time.

For those of you can not make the October 4th Debate, we would suggest that you attend one being given on the East Side of town at the Centerpointe Presbyterian Church on September 17th. The Church will not be endorsing any of the candidates.

"Meet the Candidates Night" will start at 7:00 pm. Location is 3410 Cornerstone Court, which is near the intersection of Busch Road and Valley Avenue.

Each debate is different, so the public should attend more than one.

The Chamber Debate was wonderful........fast and dynamic. Don't forget to back your choices by picking up yard signs and making a donation.

One last thought.........wouldn't it be fantastic if Pleasanton had at least an 80% voter turn out this November !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hasn't "The Weekly" already endorsed Cook-Kalio? How could they possible pupport to host an impartial debate?

I wonder if Elene will continue to omit the fact that she worked for years for James Tong and the Lin Family. That is the same gang that wanted to cut off the ridges. When they couldn't get their way the sued the City of Pleasanton, our City Manager and those that gathered signatures to allow the voters a chance to vote on Oak grove. When the Lins lost, they continued to attack the city on appeal.

I overheard her say what great people they are. Is she nuts?
