Get used to these kinds of stories.... Invite 'outsiders' into our

(what used to be little secret) towns over here and they will

bring their nasty city ways with them. Build build build and they

WILL COME. Start packing personal security with you.

White people are victims in our own towns now. Police can't fit in

our pocket like personal protection can. Watch your backs and all

around you anymore. This isn't our little valley anymore.

The politicians have pimped out our towns so they can get the

bankrupted states money. Not worth it to me. I'd rather have

dirt roads than the so-called progress they have promised.

It all comes with sorrow for those of us who have been here

since before it was put on the socialists list of progress.

Thanks Jerry Brown, for screwing everything up so bad!

He won't be happy till he changes the demographics in every little

Town everywhere and until every town looks the same.

Why don't these people make their own towns great wherever

they came from. Don't come here!

Ptown relic, this is not the place to be discussing Jerry Brown. A poor women/girl has been murdered. We should be asking ourselfs what can we do to help? How can we make this a better town, and not complaining every chance that you get. You are not an island, we all live here together.

Yes, I agree, by adding ways for criminals to get here (like Bart)we invite situations like this. I used to live in Atlanta and when a MARTA (like BART)extension was added to this lovely mall near where I lived near - they had their first rape within 1 week. The mall changed rapidly. Was no longer a nice place to go shop/see a movie/ meet up with friends.

Now we are going to get low income housing. That will ruin P-Town for sure.

So disappointing.

I am not surprised to see such negative comments come at such a sad time. We all have to remember, that someone's life has ended and we do not know the circumstances yet. This is a human and someone loved this person at one time and perhaps still do. How sad. Condolence's to her family and friends & let us not be so judgmental.

Pleasantonmom - have they said it was a murder? I haven't read that yet (I have looked at a few news agencies) do you have a link to a better article?

When they say unattended I believe they are investigating it as a sucide when no one was around? A man jumped from one of the Dublin BART structures some weeks ago.

i think it was sucide i was their yesterday and i saw the police at the top of the parking lot looking down as if possibly the woman jumped..they have cameras right?

If you look at the Pleasanton Police Annual Report you can find a table listing the number of reported crimes for each year going all the way back to before the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station was built. You'll find that (1) there was no sudden jump in the number of reported crimes around the year the BART station was built and (2) the year with the highest number of reported crimes occurred BEFORE the BART station was built.

I realize that many people have this nice, simple picture of Pleasanton once being some sort of peaceful utopia and then all of a sudden all that changed with BART bringing in vast numbers of unwashed hordes into our community but that picture simply doesn't fit the facts.

I drove past there at 3:40 on Thurs -- all was very dignified, respectful, 5 (or so) uniformed folks were tending to business, no looky-loos, the Coroner van was there, gurney draped with a white cloth, crime tape. I was impressed that it was being handled well, or so it seemed to me.

It could have been a commuter, or it could have been someone snoozing in the tall weeds near the building. Or it could have been something else. But no info to suggest what happened. Let's not go wild with conjecture in the absence of info.

Wow. As a white "outsider" reading racist posts makes me wish I could run back to a "normal" city. Poor lily white Pleasanton. Condolences to the friends and family of the lady who passed away. And thank you to police and all officials who find out what happened.

Seriously? One crime case (not even confirmed) then someone talks about "only whites are victims". If the change does have some impact, what about other races living in p town? They are not "qualified" as victims?

P town is not an isolated island. The first comment implies that someone still has this idea of racial separation in their mind, more or less ...

I thought history already taught us enough lessons how the racial seperarion worked out for America ...
