Can anyone out there shed some light on the parking lot at the corner or Peters@W. Angela? Is it a city parking lot OR does Bank of America own it and pay taxes on it to have the guts to keep people from parking their while at any of the small businesses on Main street or surrounding streets. Bof A now has a guard standing in the blocked off lot which is completely empty and us wanting to eat downtown have no place to park.
I did manage to find a spot on the outer area of the lot where the parking spot has no restrictions but as I got out of my car, the Security guard kept batting his eye at me.

My guess is the guard was there to keep fair goers out. They did that last year. When I spoke to him back then and explained that we wished to dine next door at Fontina's, he was fine.

B of A owns that parking lot and pays taxes on it, so they have the right to do what they want with it. They are generally very generous in letting people park there for downtown shopping and events but the fair time they do monitor because people looking for a free parking place by the fair would take all the spots and there would be no more spots for their customers.

Yeah it's a real pain when people think they can park their car anywhere. If that was a small business they would be out of business. The lot is for banking patrons, same thing occurs up the street at chase.

If all the people use the parking that is reserved for their clients, then when people go to the bank they wouldn't have any where to park. How frusterating is that if you bank there and you have to fight for a parking spot with someone thats going out to dinner....

The City recently built all the parking stalls on the old railroad right-of-way which provides alot of places to leave the car. And its a publically owned parking lot. On other hand, BofA owns their land and has the right of control. As a Bof A customer, I want a space when going to the ATM or banking. Perhaps a carrot could be found to provide the bank with incentives to lease some of the stalls during non banking hours to the City for public use. However, the City and residents haveto start being more proactive and pro-business otherwise, why would any business or land owner try to collaborate and work toward solutions
