County board deadlocked on replacement for Nadia Lockyer

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors deadlocked 2-2 Tuesday on appointing a replacement for Nadia Lockyer, raising the possibility that it might be left up to Gov. Jerry Brown to fill the vacancy.

Who knows what is behind the 2 to 2 vote? Perhaps the current Supervisors are not certain who might be elected in the November General Election, so they don't want to ride the wrong horse. Therefore, let the Governor be the good guy or bad guy for few months.
