This morning while driving to work from home, I made my regular trek down Ray to Main St. At the end of Ray on Main in front of the Rose Hotel there was a black towncar, black SUV and police car (with lights on). There were men in dark suits and dark glasses standing around out in front of the hotel, looking like they were waiting for someone to exit. Someone very important I gathered.
A few minutes later I received a phone call from my husband who was walking our children to school at Alisal who said he saw this "motorcade" heading down Main St in the direction of Santa Rita Rd. and the men in the black SUV were visibly armed with what he said seemed like pretty heavy artillery.
Anyone know who would be visiting the city of Pleasanton that would require this type of protection?

Francine - thanks for your response. I really was concerned that there were armed men in an SUV driving down Main St. while children are walking to school. I too am sorry that so many took this in a direction that was not necessary. Get a life people.

The mini-motorcade got onto 580 and headed east, over the Altamont I am fairly certain. The two SUV's had Government plates. The towncar I think had diplomat plates. They were cruising at about 80, in a real tight formation. Couple of feet between cars. Tail car was pushing the right side of the lane to discourage anyone from entering their space.
Interesting.
Too bad they didn't try it going West on 580 in the morning.

Well, you always know if 'Mittens' or 'Tracey' (one and the same) comment it's a topic they do not want discussed. They will trash and ridicule to end all rational exchange. Union roots. So that means cars were about a good mainstream official they want ignored, or a leftist Dem visitor, they want secretly protected...... Diversion, distraction, and destruction !
