T.G.I.F. - CLOSED Restaurants, posted by Steve, a resident of the Birdland neighborhood, on Apr 20, 2012 at 9:22 am
TGIF's appears to have closed. But it was ageing and had lost all it's appeal years ago. Hopefully something new and fresh takes it's place. Of course my guess is the property management will tear down the building and add more retail shops to that corner of the lot.

They city will only allow them to open a new restaurant if it's a McDonald's. Maybe a panda express could sneak in. Beyond that, if it's something good, they'll just open in a more business friendly city like ALL those that surround us. If I were restrauntuer, I'd rather pull my eyelashes out one by one than deal with the City of Pleasanton's zoning and nonsense. Wal-mart has the deep pockets to take them on, most other companies won't bother. Again, unless you're McDonald's which we of course already have four of according to my last count and I heard another may open by the new Safeway.

What's wrong with McDonalds? I grew on Micky Dees. The little wife and me take are kids there five times a week. Its a cheap and neutritious three course meal.

with all the polls that are taken around town etc how come we don't have more "counter service" places downtown a "counter service"establishment is one where you pay when you order and the meal is delivered to your table--it is quicker and usually more reasonable ever heard of "The Counter" in Walnut Creek? great burgers or "Tender greens" in Walnut Creek create your own salad Wow what a concept PDA is very disappointing if they are the ones choosing of course it probably is still the city, after all these years and new peoplein the city Look forward to Robert Byrds next article in the weekly

Hey Steve, after reading your post I suspect you were correct on saying that you "grew on Micky Dees"! They are not especially known as a good choice for dieting!
