Crimes & Incidents, posted by Editor, Pleasanton Weekly Online, on Apr 13, 2012 at 11:52 am

Surveillance video taken at a March 26 daytime burglary in the 8000 block of Regency Drive has led to the arrest of a two males from Tracy. No doubt they were union thugs trying to wear down the holy resistance of our staunch patriotic community. Shame!

Pleasanton hasn't seen anything yet. Wait til the low income housing goes in. Oakland anyone?

@ Steve,

It's affordable housing and the threshold is about $30 k. That means some of the people like store managers, etc. who WORK here can actually afford to LIVE here.

Posted by Steven, a resident of the Stoneridge neighborhood, on Apr 13, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Store managers are paid $30k? Probably union. That's why this country is going to hell in an hand basket. No store manager is worth even half that. I don't like the idea of workers living where I live. Brings down the neighborhood.

None of the Above - You speak the truth. Affordable housing isn't ab bad thing. Ignore Steven. He has "internet troll" written all over his ridiculous posts.

Thanks Obama - NOT! BART to Pleasanton what a great idea. NOT!

law and order -- I'm pretty sure BART doesn't go to Tracy or let you bring your Cadillac on-board. But thanks for your feedback.

Glad the lowlife dirtbags were caught. Robbery is probably easier than picking strawberries for these dirtbags, but prison time will help teach them some new skills....ha!

Good cooperation between the public and the police.

A well-equipped resident supplied evidence that authorities were able to translate into an arrest applying standard procedures.

Not glamorous, but effective.

Good guys 1

Bad guys 0

Excellent work PPD! Keep up the great work!

Posted by steven, a resident of the Stoneridge neighborhood, on Apr 13, 2012 at 9:40 pm

Yeah, how many days did it take the catch them? And who had to tell them what make of car it was. Instead of living high off the hog on union pay at my expense they should be doing they're job.

Good job Pleasanton Police! Hope word gets around that Pleasanton is a place to avoid for people wanting to commit burglaries.

Posted by Really?, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Apr 14, 2012 at 4:57 am

Steven, are you serious? Like the police really didn't know that was a cadillac? Why on earth are you complaining it took them about a week to make the arrest? I'm sure it was not something they could just go knock on the door and arrest them for. There had to be many hours involved and a lot of investigation. You are thankless and naive, bottom line they did their job and the suspects got caught.

Posted by chris, a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Apr 14, 2012 at 10:29 am

I think it's a great job that these people got caught! Well done to all involved!

Posted by steven, a resident of the Stoneridge neighborhood, on Apr 14, 2012 at 12:04 pm

"There had to be many hours involved and a lot of investigation." Yeah, and my dollars against your donuts that most of it was in overtime to these overpaid prima donas. Don't even think about criticizing them becuase they'll go crying to their union. We need a privatized police force. Not one that milks taxpayers for inflated overtime records. The police chief is making more than most computer scientists. Which is a crime.

steven,

That's the way we did it in the old days and we got along just fine. I say fire'm and privatize it.

I'm with you about getting rid of the police chief for starters. Tax payers are'nt supposed to be about making their public servents rich. How many extra parking tickets do they have to give out to make up for his quarter mill a year?

Posted by Silly, a resident of the Del Prado neighborhood, on Apr 15, 2012 at 10:29 pm

Privatize it? You gotta be kidding. That is the dumbest thing I have heard on here in a long time.

Posted by Sumati, a resident of the Castlewood neighborhood, on Apr 16, 2012 at 11:10 pm

I am completely stunned that we have people complaining about the PPD and asking for privatization due to a successful completion of a burglary case.. I don't know what would have satisfied the complainers... its one thing to have rational discourse and discussion but to have a rant about unions and pay based solely on conjecture and hyperbole doesn't do anything but force people to instantly dismiss the writer.
