Livermore teens face felony charge for detonating homemade bomb

Three teens have been arrested for what they said was a prank when three explosive devices detonated in front of a Livermore home Tuesday afternoon.

If only we had a background check and waiting period for purchases of Coke and Mentos these things wouldn't happen.

Maybe they'll be able to get jobs at the Lab someday. Sounds like they have talent. :)

They probably learned about the chemicals in science class. The issue here is that the kids probably didn't realize it is a felony. Talking to my 17 year old, he knew it was "wrong" but not a felony or what "a felony" meant. If parents don't explain laws and what they mean to the kids, how are the kids suppose to know. Nevermind that their brains aren't developed enough to make "reasonable" decisions like this. Maybe science classes should come with a disclaimer .....
