Pres. Obama's Campaign plane, Air Force One State, National, International, posted by Tango, a resident of the Vineyard Avenue neighborhood, on Feb 17, 2012 at 1:34 am
I have wondered about this for quite some time. Does Pres. Obama pay out of his own pocket for the use of Air Force One? Do we as tax payers pay for the use of this plane and all that goes with it. If we do pay it seems unfair because the other candidates don;t have access to the same privilege.

What...candidates should definitely not be allowed access to air force one. It's a symbol of the American presidency. Candidates are not "presidents too" that makes absolutely no sense. Which renders your next point about Obama being "the only one who hasn't shared Air Force One" completely invalid. If you're going to complain about Obama, at least throw some facts in there.

Obama is not a citizen of this country. That's been proven many times over by Donald Trump. Therefore he is not president of this country. With no president, everyone is a president, but especially the Republican candidates. Another fact: Obama is the only nonpresident president this country has ever had that has refused to share Air Force One with others. He's in way over his head, and I mean really really over his head.

Are you messing with me...please say you are. If not, then it's people like you who make me grateful for the electoral college. How can you trust Trump as an authority on politics? Your logic is...well, what you wrote doesn't even contain logic. Also there's no such thing as a nonpresident...

Former student sounds like a union plant from Chicago sponsored by the Democrat Party. Donald Trump is an honorable American. He spent a great deal of money to prove that Obama is not our president. Electoral colleges have been overtaken by Acorn and other electoral terrorists who stole the election for the Kenyan in the White House. This will all change when Rick Santorum gets elected. And I have no doubt he'll share Air Force One with past and future contenders for the crown of President of these United States.

I'm definitely not a democrat. I don't play the pointless party politics game. Trump didn't prove anything, he wasted his money. Santorum is an idiot who doesn't think evolution is real, he won't even get a nomination.

Obama is like a third world dictator. He's in way over his head. Evolution is a hoax, just like global warming. It's all absurd. Santorum's truth is universal. What he says was true even when Adam and Eve and the dinosaurs were sharing this wonderful earth together.

No Tango, Obama doesn't pay for using Air Force One, those of us who actually pay income taxes pick up the bill.
Ignore the rest on this page. Any negative comments about Obama, or any comments about Republicans are used for attacks by a union Dem who uses different names and carries on converstations with herself, under different names, preventing any relevant discussion of issues.

There's certainly nothing funny about paying taxes so that a President can go flying around the country in his own jet. What a third world dictator he is! No other presidents have ever done that, and when they did, they always shared, as long as you first made a reservation. My wife and I flew on Air Force One during Bush's time in office. We flew from Sacramento to Hattiesburg Mississipp for a Celebrate Whiteness festival.
Still, I don't like paying taxes for Democrat president to fly his own jet. I'd much rather have my taxes go for food stamps for Walmart workers who aren't paid a living wage. Always happy to prop up the Walton family empire with my tax money!

actually, tango, he could chip in with what he took out of CA yesterday. Here for 20 hours of campaigning in LA, San Fran, and Seattle about a dozen events @ $38,000. per person ! ! That's rather bigtime.!! He gets a steady stream of $$ out of Hollywood from the Matt Damon, George Cloony crowd....that's why tickets are so expensive ! ! ! I'm sure it's rigged that his 5 min. Sat. morning messsage, being sent from seattle, will mean WE get to cover the WHOLE thing ! ! Such is our lot.

I'm definitely not "take back this country," I'm, as my name suggests, a former student from Amador. I didn't want people to believe the illogical crap that s/he was writing, then I figured they were just trying to stir things up. I myself am stupid for playing along.

The president is operating with a "phoney theology." A lady told me the other day that Obama was a muslim arab, but heck my job isn't to correct other people. My wife and I homeschooled our own kids, and they've done pretty decent. One drives a school bus part-time, and the other is a proud and responsible employee at Walmart albeit who is a bit embarrassed about having to collect govt food stamps.
But my point is that Obama's phoney theology is behind the whole govt education scam. All parents should be responsible for homeschooling their own kids. Protestantism departed from Christianity centuries ago. Ask Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

From 2007 to 2009, Santorum's rate of charitable giving fluctuated between 2.03% and 2.67% of his earnings.
In 2010, the rate dropped to 1.76% of his $923,411 in income. That same year, President Obama gave 14.2% of his income to charity, while Mitt Romney donated 13.8% [to antigay and anti-women ads] and Newt Gingrich gave 2.6%.
You'd think if the fo-paws president gives 14.2 percent of his income to charity he'd at least kick in a few bucks to keep Air Force One in the air. What a cheapskate!

I feel like a lost citizen stranded among a sea of illegal immigrants. The reason I go to the PW discussion board is because so many like-minded people like me are concerned about genuine human rights issues. Here is where I find concerns about discrimination against Republican presidential aspirants, oppressed grocery shoppers, the Walton family, and white people whose kids are too dumb to gain admission into a Cal State.

moroned citizen-your comment has nothing whatsoever to do with the topic, but we can play along. Since you're so concerned about 'human rights' (apparently just for illegals), I wanted to let you know I made a contribution to your cause this weekend by employing some guys loitering on front of Home Depot. It saved me time so I could go visit my daughter in college, who didn't have to game the system to get in, which you also are advocating.

steve is probably a Rick Santorum supporter. Doesn't realize he is way too liberal for most of us. Like steve, I also have a daughter at Burger King hamburger college. A small world we live in. My husband tried to hire those loiterers in front of Home Depot once, but they wouldn't work for three dollars an hour. They'd rather just stand around, loiter, and game the system.

WOW !!! How did we get off the subject? How did we get from Air Force One to illegals at Home Depot? I am not sure , after wadding through all of this , that think got an answer for my original question.

Yes, Tango, since "we do pay [for Air Force One]it seems unfair because the other candidates don;t have access to the same privilege."
I agree. All the other candidates should have equal access to Air Force One, and all should also have special bedrooms in the White House for when they want to sleep over. Why should a President be the only one to use the White House? Share and share alike is what my parents always taught me.
Posted by Former Student, a member of the Vintage Hills Elementary School community, on Feb 20, 2012 at 5:23 pm
Bulerias, I completely disagree. The president has the absolute worst job ever. Air force one is specifically reserved for the president. The candidates have other means of air transport so why does it matter? And suggesting that there be rooms for candidates is dumb, if someone liked my house and wanted to live in it I'm no going o reserve a bedroom for it. The right to air force one and the Whitehouse is a privilege that candidates haven't earned.
