Why? I was about to call the police myself this morning to find out what was going on or to have it investigated before a passing jogger told me what was going on.

Pretty surprising how far the odor traveled. Even though there was hardly any breeze we smelled it from our house near Foothill High, which is about a mile south of Muirwood Park.

My son texted me mid morning from foothill high and said the smell was so stong on campus that kids were barfing in the quad. The principle got on the PA system and told students to stay in a classroom to avoid the overwhelming odor. Too bad they couldn't have done this on the weekend, but it's probably not in the budget.

Haven't heard of any kids barfing at Alisal, Gingerbread, Walnut Grove, Harvest Park, or AVHS when they laid this stuff down at the AV park by Safeway. Kids must be tougher on this side of town. ;p

Haven't heard of any reports of kids throwing up due to the compost odor problem at Lydiksen Elementary either, where my daughter goes to school and which is very close to Muirwood Park. So I don't understand why so many high school students at Foothill High were getting sick because of it. Maybe there was some bad reaction due to the combination of the odor problem and the drugs. :-)

Seriously, I live close to Foothill High and the odor problem wasn't what I would describe as "overwhelming". Very noticeable if standing outdoors, yes, and unusual enough to make me consider calling the police to check it out. But I'm a bit surprised to hear that it would cause anyone around Foothill High to throw up.

Ouch! Joking aside, maybe a small minority of kids are extremely sensitive to certain odors, which may be considered disgusting and act as a body's natural defense to avoid potentially disease-causing agents. I hear disgust can be a culturally conditioned response though.

Now don't get me wrong. I thought it was the fumes from the Repubs not being able to decide on a candidate to beat ol' O. You know it's tough to be against a guy so much that you can't fend an offense to get rid of him. My pa use to say, "All hat, no cattle." Never knew what it meant, but it seems appropriate. And, I didn't really think the smell was the Repubs. But it did cross my mind.

The smell was one big union-caused distraction. While everyone was gagging from the smell, the Safeway checkout girls and bag boys were smuggling in some of Obama's Chicago hit men to intimidate everyone in P-town into shopping at union stores. I called the police, but they're unionized too and their fat-cat leaders must have told them to lay off until all the out-0f-town thugs were brought into play.

This is just another sign that people who live in an urban environment for more than 10 years become loons. A prime example is they live, breath, and idolize "organic". Well, yesterday they got truck loads of organic. I wonder if they rushed out to eat it.

Then, there are the ultra-loons like Jesse and clink. Perhaps they were smoking "organic".

Can you say organic fertilizers?- many available- no smell. And that is soil not dirt. And it may not and probably will not "correct" the soil. Use fertilizer if you need it.

WLPositas islands had this product installed by the vendor- it was horrible, lasted about a week, in warm weather! Gross to run, walk, cycle by. There are soooo many organic products but you know "low" bid!

I think the kids vomiting at FHS must be a rumor. My child who attends FHS said she heard there were lots of kids at Hart throwing up. She didn't say anyone at FHS was sick. My student from Hart didn't know what she was talking about.

High school....LOL.... I only believe about 15% of what I hear.

Obviously the union thugs are behind this, yet we're at a loss to have it investigated properly. The local cops are union, the state is Democratic, and Obama's Eric Holder is a communist union sock puppet.

I work in an office near Stoneridge and it WAS really bad, even indoors with no open windows. Everyone was checking their shoes to see if they stepped in some dog doo. No call to police but we sure did want to leave..

I don't think it has anything to do with the students at Foothill being weaker, but that students at Amador are more used to the smell of manure!!!!!

Oh, Stevo, I think you may be wrong about that. I do know one shouldn't have to lie about everything in order to make one's point. Now, let's get back to the matter at hand. Unions are destroying this country, and they're more than capable of spreading manure as a distraction while they smuggle in Obama's union strongarm guys from Chicago to intimidate Walmart shoppers here in Pleasanton. My cousin tells me it's happening all over the country. We have an opportunity to emulate the Arkansas landscape with its Walmarts and chicken farms, but instead the corrupt unions and sock puppet socialist politicians want to continue robbing us blind. Trader Joes, indeed! Stay strong my brother!
