Oakland mayor names Jordan police chief, hires new fire chief

Oakland Mayor Jean Quan Wednesday announced that interim police Chief Howard Jordan will head the Police Department on a permanent basis.

Congratulations to the new Chief and good luck with the difficult task. I also want to lend my support to the Oakland PD for their thankless job of trying to keep rest in a restless city, now complicated with the Occupy Oaklanders. A huge thank you from a neighboring community member.

Just look at any photo of the city. It's ALL affirmative action hires. Next the new hires will want to rename the city either Mexiland or Kenyamerica.
