These Occupy protests are such a farce. The main organizer and bankroller is George Soros, the evil billionaire that made his money by manipulating currencies. How can they be protesting against the actions of the 1% when their leader is a poster child of what they purport to be protesting against. It's time to call clear them out, using the National Guard if necessary.

I agree with Peet. I feel it is time to use the National Guard to get these people out of the faces of people who are trying to make ends meet, and not making the lives of innocent people tougher than it already is.

These community agitators have been exposed for the hypocrites they are. They are selfish, immature lemmings bent on creating anarchy, deflecting attention from their own failures. I would have hoped some of the longshoremen would have taken matters into their own hands to preserve their livelihoods, but even they have been emasculated by their union leaders that hope to gain in appeasing the mob. It's time those opposing the interruption of businesses that benefit everyone stand up and confront these thugs, blocking their marches to keep producers from earning a living.

I could not agree more with the above posts. Who are the Occupiers really impacting? Joe and Jane Q. Public, just trying to take care of their families and earn a modest living.

Mayor Quan is learning that hard way that liberal leadership just doesn't work in practice. She's coddled the thugs and fought for criminal gangs' rights and against the courts and law enforcement - and then she got mugged. She fired the chief of police for doing his job, and Oakland continues to be a ceaspool of ghetto thuggery, murder and random violence.

Now, she coddles the protestors, and what has happened? Millions of damage to Oakland infrastructure; small businesses owners failing or leaving town because of the protests; large businesses continuing to leave downtown (including Clorox). And now, longshorman's livlihoods are threatened at Christmastime in a down economy. Gotta love it...

As a liberal leader, she's truly outdone herself. Mayor Dellums passively hurt Oakland by not doing his job - Mayor Quan's proactive policies have more than decimated Oakland - leading it to a path of full-scale distruction - rivaling Dafur or Serbia.

Makes me thankful to live in the Tri-Valley - our local "leaders" aren't too bright - but at least they're not trying to destroy are towns at the rate our friends in the East Bay are.
