Just in time for Thanksgiving company...
Around Town, posted by Ah, yes...., a resident of the Another Pleasanton neighborhood neighborhood, on Nov 23, 2011 at 5:32 pm

... ah, yes. It's that time of the year again... the time of the year when whatever "blooms" in our water supply starts to go crazy and the water starts smelling and tasting of mildew or vase water that's been sitting too long. Went and stocked up on bottled water for the faucets (bathrooms) that don't have the water filters on.

You should also stock up on vinegar/LemiShine to help keep spots off the dishes/glasses. It is an ongoing problem of having glasses look worse when they come out of the dishwasher than before they went in.

Jeez Ah yes.....where the heck do YOU live??? I've lived in Pleasanton for 52-1/2 years and have never had the problem with the water that you are describing. We also have Alhambra water - the machine and the 5 gallon jugs in the garage - but our water isn't a problem. hmmmmm....
