Local legislators seek state support for solar companies

Senate Majority Leader Ellen M. Corbett (D-San Leandro) and Assemblymember Bob Wieckowski (D-Fremont) called on the Legislature Wednesday to continue nurturing the growth of the solar industry and pass a bill to give companies using solar panels manufactured or assembled in California a leg up in state contracts.

maybe it's time to conside an import tax to close the 'unfair labor costs' of China? Unfair, or below minimum wage?

Why are we favoring solar when we could easily just put up a couple of coal plants in the area? The last thing we need is uppity solar workers who drive their priuses and think they're superior to the rest of us.

How about building some natural gas fired generators fueled by all the manure coming from Sacramento. The fuel is free, paid for by all the lobbyists.

Solar is good, but our government should consider leveling out the international playing field rather than subsidizing local business.

Perhaps she can get some input from obama's "jobs czar" immelt. I hear he has some great ideas on getting things rolling in America. Oops, I mean China!! My Bad!! Also these guys should go take a tour of the Solandrya (sp?) plant. I hear they are doing great things there with our $500,000,000.00. Ooops, better check with the FBI first. I think they are already booked for a tour this week!!
